Long stay at DMC

The day that I was able to leave the hospital was one of the most emotional days of my life. I was able to join the rest of the world and step outside of a room that I had spent 5 1/2 long weeks in. I had dreamt about this moment but the emotions I felt when I had to leave my babies behind where over whelming. Over the next few months we had become family with the nurses and Doctors at Doctors Medical Center. We spent every day for the next three months driving from home to the the hospital to see the boys. Every day was very difficult entering the NICU not knowing what to expect or how the day was going to end. For months I would fray at the sound of the telephone ringing and pray that is was not the hospital calling with horrible news. The first four weeks were long and we were tired but the babies seemed to take well to their new environment. They all seemed to be doing great with their oxygen and intervenes nutrition and would soon be started on breast milk through there oral tubes. The ounces where adding up and by this time we had all reached three pounds.

The DeKleva Triplets

After five in a half long weeks spent in bed at Doctors Medical Center The DeKleva Triplets entered our world. They were born on November 27th, 2007 at 3:18, 3:19, and 3:20pm via cesarean section. They were born at 29 weeks gestation. Ryan born first weighed a whopping 2lb. 7oz., then came Logan the smallest of the three at 2lb. 2oz., Last but not the least was Owen weighing 2lb. 4oz., and all where 14 inches in length. The most rememberable moment was hearing each and everyone of them let out a cry once delivered. My prayers where answered and we now had three beautiful boys. It all seemed to happen so quickly while i was sent to recovery they were rushed off to the NICU where they would spend the next three months continuing to grow before turning home.
